Winston-Salem Community Involvement

At Winston Smiles Dentistry, we are grateful for the opportunity to care for our patients and serve the community around us. Our doctors and team recognize that many individuals face barriers to receiving the dental care they need, and we value opportunities to support organizations that help meet those needs with compassion and dignity.  We have long supported efforts to care for underserved individuals and families throughout Winston-Salem and the surrounding communities. Through local outreach, nonprofit partnerships, and service-minded initiatives, we are honored to play a small role in helping improve oral health, comfort, and quality of life for those in need.

Winston-Salem Rescue Mission

Winston-Salem Rescue Mission is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christ-centered ministry established as a response to the hundreds of homeless men wandering the streets of Winston-Salem. Since 1967, the Rescue Mission has been actively involved in meeting the physical, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of destitute people. Through various programs, the Mission is able to reach out and effectively care for over 100 men each day, enriching men’s lives with nurturing and recovery services. Such services provide clients with shelter, medical & dental care, food, clothing, job training and Christian counseling.

The Oar Foundation & Footbridge

The Oar Foundation was created as an outreach effort to expand access to dental care for uninsured, underinsured, and underserved individuals in our community. Through partnerships with organizations such as Footbridge, a nonprofit that matches people in need with people who care, the foundation helps support local clinics and outreach opportunities that provide dental examinations, treatment planning, and care for those who may otherwise have difficulty receiving it. These efforts include serving veterans, active military members and their families, and others in need throughout North Carolina, with the goal of improving oral health, comfort, and quality of life.

NC Missions of Mercy Dental Clinics

Winston Smiles Dentistry is also proud to support the spirit of service represented by the North Carolina Missions of Mercy dental clinics, a program of the North Carolina Dental Society Foundation.

NC MOM clinics are portable, free dental clinics held throughout North Carolina to provide care for adults from underserved households. These clinics are staffed by volunteers, including dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, lab technicians, health professionals, and community members. Through these events, patients may receive much-needed dental care that they might otherwise go without.

Whether through local nonprofit partnerships, dental outreach clinics, or volunteer service, our goal is to help extend compassionate dental care to those who need it most in Winston-Salem and throughout North Carolina.
