Choose Winston Smiles for Dental Crowns or Restorative Services

At Winston Smiles, our goal is to provide dentistry that is truly exquisite. When there is a need to restore teeth, we strive to create beautiful restorations that look and feel natural.

What Are the Capabilities of Implant Crowns?

Crown and bridgework are a very reliable solution for many dental problems such as damage caused by trauma, tooth decay and general “wear and tear” as well as for teeth that have become severely discolored. This treatment can also be used to replace missing teeth when used in conjunction with dental implants. Drs. Pruitt, Miller, Stowe, Steinbicker and Taylor use only the highest quality of materials for these restorations which include high-grade porcelain, porcelain bonded to gold, or all cast metal (gold or other strong alloys). When teeth have been damaged or lost due to trauma or when they’ve experienced excessive wear, implant crowns and/or dental bridges can be used as a long-term solution.

Additionally, many people experience unexplained pain from posterior (back) teeth, which is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing implant crowns on these teeth can relieve the pain and allows a return to full dental function. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping. The use of dental crowns can provide a beautiful alternative to strengthen these teeth as well. Teeth that have had root canal therapy typically have a higher chance of fracture and crowns are often indicated to help stabilize them and prevent further deterioration. For over 50 years, the team at Winston Smiles has been proud to offer a host of dental care services to patients across Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Pfafftown, Lewisville, Walkertown, Lexington, Wallburg, Kernersville, High Point, and Greensboro, NC. If you’re interested in learning more about the benefits of dental crowns or if you’d like to schedule an initial consultation, please feel free to contact us today.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown?

Fitting a crown requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will perform the tooth preparation which includes shaping the tooth, removing any decay present, and then fabricating a temporary crown. An impression is also taken at this time which will be used by our talented, experienced and local lab technician who will make your custom restoration.

On the subsequent visit, we will remove the temporary crown and try in your permanent crown. Any adjustments are then made prior to cementing your beautiful new restoration.

Patient Review

Had a crown come off on Friday morning early call their office that morning they were able to get me in the same day to get the crown re-cemented. The staff was very professional and welcoming I would definitely consider them for future care and would be definitely going back for their care for my dental needs. They are great. I will recommend them to any one I know that needs a dentist. Highly recommended

I highly recommend this dental office. The staff are excellent in their profession, always friendly, and always very helpful. Dr. Steinbecker is the best dentist I've ever had, and I've had quite a few. I hope I never have to go anywhere else. He is highly skilled and incredibly nice. I've been going to this practice for years now for preventative appointments, routine fillings, and crowns. I have seen Dr. Albertson and Dr. Stowe on occasion when my doctor is out, and they are also great. The dentist assistants and dental hygienists are always friendly, skilled, and professional.

Patient Review

Sandra Scott referred me years ago. I now have been a patient of Dr. Taylor for 5+ years. She is absolutely wonderful! I am almost 50 years old but still I have a child mentality and fear when it involves dentistry work. Dr. Taylor is VERY caring, understanding and patient with me. The entire staff are wonderful as well. There is ONE staff member that stands out above all and that is Debbie. She truly is delightful with her bubbly personality and caring demeanor.

Patient Review

I have been a patient of Dr. David Miller's for approximately 15 years. He has helped me save teeth that other dentists would have pulled. He always makes sure I am comfortable. He ALWAYS MAKES SURE U ARE COMFORTABLE AND NOT IN PAIN NOR HAVE ANY PAIN DURING ANY OF THE PROCEDURES I HAVE EVER HAD DONE!!!! When I first started coming to see Dr. Miller, I had anxiety because of prior experiences w/other dentists. Since I have been seeing him, I do not dread, get anxious, or nervous when I have to get anything done by him. The hygienists are amazing and so is the rest of the support staff as well. U will NEVER GO WRONG BY CHOOSING TO COME TO THIS OFFICE! They have only ur best care in mind! You will not find any better care &/or treatment at any other dental office. I have recommended this office to friends and thus far 3 people I recommended this office to have become patients and love the care they have/are receiving also!
